MEDMUN 2025 ONLINE COMMITTEES

This year, exceptionally, MEDMUN is introducing two online committees, one in French and the other in English, providing students and high schoolers from the Mediterranean region, who cannot travel, the opportunity to participate in our conference remotely through MEDMUN Online.

Cette année, exceptionnellement, MEDMUN innove en proposant deux comités en ligne, l'un en français et l'autre en anglais, offrant ainsi aux étudiants et lycéens du monde méditerranéen, ne pouvant se déplacer, l'opportunité de participer à notre conférence à distance via MEDMUN en ligne.

  • The World Trade Organisation (WTO) stands as the primary international body governing trade between nations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and services while promoting fair and open markets. This WTO committee will challenge delegates to negotiate pragmatic solutions while balancing national interests with global economic imperatives.

    The Gulf region, long reliant on hydrocarbons, faces a pivotal moment as global markets shift towards sustainable energy. With increasing international pressure to reduce carbon emissions and diversify economies, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states must balance economic stability with renewable energy investments. Delegates will explore WTO policies that can facilitate a fair and efficient transition, considering trade incentives, subsidies, and global competitiveness in emerging green energy sectors.

    After years of conflict and economic isolation, Syria’s reintegration into global trade remains a contentious issue. Sanctions, infrastructure damage, and political instability pose significant challenges. This committee will debate potential pathways for Syria’s economic re-engagement, weighing trade liberalization, WTO accession, and regional partnerships. Delegates must navigate legal, economic, and political barriers to determine the feasibility of Syria’s return to international markets.

  • L'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'Alimentation et l'Agriculture (FAO) est une agence spécialisée des Nations Unies qui joue un rôle clé dans la lutte contre la faim et l'amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire à l'échelle mondiale alors que de nombreux défis transcendent les époques et les frontières imposant des crises multifactorielles à un niveau régional, voire mondial. Dans cette optique, ce comité traitera d’une crise connue mais pour laquelle peu d’actions sont mises en place, exacerbée par des années de conflit et où les délégués auront des rôles clés en élaborant des solutions novatrices pour fournir une aide immédiate tout en développant des stratégies à long terme visant à renforcer la résilience alimentaire dans le pays, tout en tenant compte des réalités sociopolitiques locales. Le second sujet que traitera ce comité est la crise de rareté des ressources en eau au Sahel posant de nouveaux défis pour à la fois la production agricole et la sécurité alimentaire. Les délégués devront penser à des solutions impliquant les autorités locales mais aussi établir des cadres régionaux de gestion des ressources hydriques, favorisant une agriculture durable. Ce comité offre donc une opportunité unique aux délégués de découvrir des enjeux cruciaux liés à la sécurité alimentaire et à la gestion des ressources naturelles, en s’inscrivant dans des contextes géopolitiques complexes. Vos idées et vos débats pourront tracer la voie vers un avenir où la sécurité alimentaire n’est pas un privilège, mais un droit universel.

All delegates applyingfor the online committes will have to send a copy of th eapplication form linked below as well as all the other documents detailed on the form. All applications have to be send to MEDMUN’s email account (secretariat@medmun.fr) efore the end of the deadline below.

Payments for online committees will take place once your application has been reviewed and accepted by the directors of said committees.
