Head of the Turkish Committee

Mert is a first-year student at Sciences Po Paris, Menton Campus. He plans to major in Economy & Society in his second year. This year, he will be serving as the Head of the Turkish Committee.

Originally from Türkiye, Mert grew up in Dubai. Despite never having lived in Türkiye, his attachment to his homeland has remained strong. Growing up in Dubai exposed him to a wide range of political opinions and perspectives. His interest in global affairs was sparked by the political turmoil in his own country.

Mert’s MUN journey began in 2022, when he attended his first conference. Since then, he has participated in several conferences as a delegate and chair and has also served within the secretariat. Outside of academics, Mert enjoys cycling, watching movies, and reading history. 

He is excited to make MEDMUN 2026 a fun and memorable experience for all.
